RANKL Assay

RANKL also known as TRANCE (TNF-related activation induced cytokine), is a type II membrane protein that is a member of the TNF (tumor necrosis factor) family. RANKL is also referred to as NSF11 and functions as an inductor of osteoclastogenesis, lymph node organogenesis, enhancement of T cell growth, and dendritic cell function. Osteoprotegerin is a naturally occurring decoy receptor that counterbalances the effects of RANKL.
