Many proteins thought to be potential diagnostic markers of human diseases, including cancer, autoimmune, and cardiovascular disease, circulate at concentrations well below the limits of detection of current protein detection technologies. More sensitive methods for accurately measuring protein levels in blood are needed to bridge the gap between circulating concentrations and limits of detection. Utilizing SiMoA, a more than 1000-fold improvement over ELISA has been demonstrated for proteins of interest to the scientific and medical communities. Quanterix is actively developing a cost-effective, automated platform to address the needs of the life science and diagnostics markets.

Quanterix has already generated multiple assays where there is a major unmet medical need and candidate biomarkers are known, but currently cannot be adequately measured in blood. Oncology and neurology are two application areas initially selected to apply SiMoA technology.

Additionally, Quanterix is establishing collaborations with leading investigators to develop and validate tests for novel biomarkers that may benefit from increased sensitivity and precision. Through our Quanterix Translational Research Program (QTRP), we have established collaborations with clinical researchers worldwide to enable development of new content in important areas with high unmet need.
